Anger Management

This is a stand alone two day workshop giving participants the basic tools of anger management. It is particularly relevant to those who urgently want help to deal with their inner turmoil and the resulting behaviours that have such a devastating effect on their lives and the lives of those around them.

In this model participants work together in a safe supportive environment and the emphasis is on the experiential aspect of being part of a group.

This programme can also be deilverd to individuals over one and a half days, with a break of around six weeks between the two sessions.

AIM: This two day workshop will help participants to develop a greater understanding of their anger and to learn and practise effective anger control techniques.

GOALS: to be able to understand the essential causes and processes of anger
to have an increased awareness of their personal anger
to have acquired new perspectives around effective communication and its importance in managing anger
to have practised (through role play, discussion, groupwork, feedback etc.) effective anger management strategies.

Conflict Resolution

Our conflict resolution course is called "understanding anger". We believe that in order to be able to deal effectively with other people's anger we first have to be able to understand anger as a process.

Understanding anger has been developed over the last eight years to be able to provide what we think is a very effective conflict resolution programme. All of the elements of the course are in line with what is taught in the NHS and other national organisations.

Assertiveness & Self Esteem

There are many situations in both work and personal life when we either lose control and become angry or say nothing and 'swallow' or feelings. In either case we feel bad, either for causing other people upset because of the way we behaved, or, we feel inadequate because we haven't stood up for ourselves. These are all occasions where assertive behaviour would be a real benefit. Lack of assertiveness is very often linked to low self esteem. This coure will help to make a connection between the two, and will give participants the opportunity to lead more assertive lives.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

How much is drug and alcohol related absence costing your organisation?

An employeee with an alcohol or drug problem can decrease productivity, increase lateness and absenteeism, create a hostile work environment and damage an organisations reputation. Even more serious is the argument that a worker who is operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs could completely undermine the organisations' efforts to create a safe working environment. This course aims to raise awareness to prevent issues with drugs and alcohol in workplace.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

Our drug and alcohol workplace testing is designed to re-enforce the company workplace drug and alcohol policy. This testing can be done on a random basis or on suspicion that a person is under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.

Our breath testing procedures consist of taking a breathalyser reading and or mouth swab test. Our breathalyser machines are similar to those used in roadside alcohol testing and are calibrated on a regular basis. At the point when a positive test is provided, we are then able to run a further mouth swab test if required, than can be sent to a laboratory for analysis. The lab then provides the results within 24 hours which determine what substances a person has in their system.

If positive tests are provided the drug policy would then provide suitable outcomes.
